Living Our Vision, Mission, Values
There are three things that clearly define the essence of SUNY Cobleskill’s unique character: our Vision, our Mission, and our Values.
In the articles that follow, you will see how these three invaluable and indispensable elements permeate the life of our SUNY Cobleskill community. Our commitment to them is not confined to a white paper or a symposium. We live with and through them every day.
SUNY Cobleskill is a college quite unlike any other. Both in the subjects our students pursue and in the ways we equip them with real-world knowledge and skills, this is a special place.
I’m confident that as you read through the topics presented here, you will quickly see and appreciate the many ways in which SUNY Cobleskill “walks the walk” with respect to our Vision, Mission and Values. Our dedication to their application and actualization in the life of our entire campus community is, in my view, one of the characteristics that make this College so different and so rare….
Follow Us into the Future
As the premier educational institution of agriculture and technology, SUNY Cobleskill calls all learners to grow, to sustain and to renew the world and its citizens. We continue to be guided by our founding vision: “Education is the hope of the world… If our young men and women are to grow quality in their lives they must learn to direct their own thinking, their own wanting, and their own doing.” (1921 College Catalogue)

The Shock of the New
SUNY Cobleskill sets the standard for applied education that extends theory into practice. We cultivate our students to positively affect the cultural, economic, natural and technological forces in their lives. In pursuit of our mission we strive to honor our history, teach by doing, forge pathways for success, think globally and across disciplines, cultivate sustainability, embrace and support our community, and promote personal growth.
